What’s a movie or book that inspired you to travel?
I recently visited the Museum on the Boyne in Alliston, Ontario. It is a historic site built around 1865 by Neil McDonald and his family. Experiences like this deepen my appreciation for Canada’s rich and diverse history.
To be honest, my passion for travel was greatly sparked by watching globe-trotting YouTubers explore hidden corners of the world, opening my eyes to vibrant cultures, new languages, unbelievable foods, and breathtaking landscapes.
While I dream of taking those big overseas adventures, I’ve found that same wonder right in my own backyard. Exploring Canada’s diverse provinces, towns, and favourite cities like Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec, and British Columbia lets me taste world-class flavours and connect with rich, varied cultures without ever leaving home.
I just felt like including a fun fact about Canada
A fun fact about domestic travel in Canada is that Canada is home to the world’s longest coastline, stretching over 202,080 kilometres (125,567 miles) along the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic Oceans.
Even as a local, you could walk along the coast every day for over 30 years and still not cover all of it. In fact, if you tried to walk around the entire coastline non-stop at a normal pace, it would take you roughly 4.5 years!
Will I ever do that? Absolutely not! I will watch the National Geographic Channel instead.
