A short, warm, gently humorous piece about my newfound ignorance of “Hump Day,”🤔😂

I must confess, I’ve lived all this time without knowing that “Hump Day” was a thing. While others were out here celebrating Wednesdays as the triumphant climb over the week’s midpoint, I was simply… living my life, unaware that the workweek apparently has its own little mountain range.
According to Merriam-Webster, “Hump Day” is an informal North American term for Wednesday. The symbolic hill you climb from Monday to midweek before coasting toward the weekend. The phrase emerged around the 1950s and grew in popularity by the 1980s, built on the image of trudging up a steep slope only to finally reach that sweet downward glide.
Meanwhile, I was over here treating Wednesday like any other day, not realizing people were out there saying “Happy Hump Day!” with the same enthusiasm others reserve for holidays.
But now that I know, I suppose I’ve officially joined the club. Here’s to the hill, the climb, and the gentle slide toward Friday.
