Christmas shows up in so many small wonders, and this year I’ve gathered a little collection of them to share with you. From winter walks to sparkling mall decorations, from funny Christmas moments to glowing trees and three beautiful Nativity scenes. Each photo carries its own piece of the season’s joy. I even had more images from Christmas markets and craft shows, but they were on a phone I recently lost. Still, what remains feels like a gentle stroll through the festivities, a reminder that the holiday spirit can be found in many places and simple moments.

“His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.”–Matthew 28:3
Three unique nativity scenes from various neighbourhoods

Nativity scenes have a beautiful way of reflecting the heart of each home and community. Some families and churches set them beneath the Christmas tree, while others place them on a mantel, altar, tabletop, or even outdoors; each arrangement adds its own festive touch and meaning. Whether crafted from wood, porcelain, fabric, or thrift‑store treasures, every version tells the same sacred story of Jesus’ birth. As Scripture reminds us, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). Whichever way we choose to display it, the Nativity becomes a gentle reminder of hope, faith, and the love that gathers family together at Christmas.
Let us take a walk
The world outside is hushed, the rooftops softened, streetlights glowing like small benedictions, every flake a reminder that even the earth knows how to rest.

My daughter wishes the snow would hurry up and go away. I was secretly hoping she’d continue singing her Christmas carol, but instead all I heard was her little chant: “Snow, snow, go away.” Meanwhile, I’m just soaking in this quiet snowfall, which feels like a rare, relaxing moment to me.
Have you sung a carol yet?
What is your favourite Christmas song?
Me: Silent Night, Mary Did You Know…? Okay, I think I like them all!

The most beautiful decorations are natural.
I walk slowly through the winter air, wrapped in Christmas joy. Snow-clad paths and trees line my way, their quiet beauty keeps me saying, “Awe!”

This imagery of scarves warmed my heart, so I had to take a photo to share.
A free-standing door, a heart and a snow person
Down the street stood a free‑standing door, held upright by the snow as though the neighbourhood children had built a playful invitation into the winter itself. It felt like a quiet threshold, a wordless “come on in” offered to anyone passing by.
Nearby, they had pressed a heart into the fresh snow, simple, imperfect, and full of the tenderness only small feet can leave behind.
A little snow person kept watch near the apartments, leaning slightly in the cold, its rounded shape softening the stillness. Together, these small creations felt like gentle offerings of welcome, reminders that even in the hush of winter, we discover ways to open the door to warmth, wonder, and one another.🤗
Remember, laughter is good medicine for the soul and bones!😁

A walk through a neighbourhood in Cloverdale, BC.
I noticed there was no snowfall for Christmas. In fact, it rarely snows here at all, nothing like Ontario or other parts of Canada where winter snow is simply the norm.
These Christmas displays are created with care for the whole community; free for everyone to enjoy, people are welcome to leave a donation that helps support a meaningful local cause.

A rainy Christmas day in Surrey, BC

My friends’ first Christmas lights! Soft and welcoming…
Walking in malls, then and now!
The malls sparkle with decoration, each storefront a story of light.

My daughter, “Wow, Mom, this tree is so tall!” Seen at the Eaton Centre, Toronto, ON

Let’s go see the Christmas parade!

Christmas music serenades from a marching band at the parade.

Families laugh nearby, and I pause, simply grateful to witness the season’s wonder in others’ joy.

The happiness of a free hug from the hugging Santas.
Soft as a gift I didn’t ask for. Warmth opened like the first sip of my hot chocolate, and yes, when the moment came, I hugged back. 🤗

Once upon a time, homey reflections!

My stair‑rail decoration felt most alive when the lights were on; it was the first soft greeting you received the moment you stepped through the front door.

This is a Christmas reflection in more ways than one. I took the photo through the mirror, letting the season greet me from the other side of the glass.

A quiet drive

A quiet drive down a silent street became an unexpected invitation to breathe. With someone else at the wheel, I felt the day slowly loosen its grip on me.

The stillness outside seemed to echo a stillness I’d been longing for within, one I hadn’t paused long enough to notice. As the car moved forward, something in me softened. The tight places began to uncoil, much like the stiff muscles in my neck, loosening as though my soul was remembering what it meant to rest without earning it.
In that hush, a familiar whisper rose within me, not a command, but a kindness. It felt like a gentle invitation to stop striving for a moment and simply be held. Strength came not from pushing harder, but from letting go lightly, the way snowflakes drift to earth. And as the road stretched gently ahead, a quiet restoration settled within me, as though something deep was being steadied and renewed. I felt myself being carried by a grace that meets us in the ordinary, steadies us in the quiet, and reminds us that rest is not a luxury, but a gift.
Thank you for taking the time to read and view these moments with me. I hope your Christmas season is filled with wonder, rest, and the kind of beauty that lingers long after the lights fade. May joy and peace guard your heart, today and always.
Much love,💞
