Forgetfulness & Rue

Forgetfulness & Rue
Writing short poems and haikus has become part of my way of capturing the beauty and complexity of life in just a few words. It’s a fun and expressive outlet that I hope will resonate with you. Whether you’re here for a quick read, a moment of reflection, or simply to enjoy the art of words, I’m thrilled to share this with you.
Have you ever found yourself on the verge of sharing something important with someone, only to be derailed by a sudden distraction? Or have you navigated the complex terrain of forgiveness, either seeking it or extending it to someone who has wronged you? And what about love, that unpredictable force that can end as abruptly as it began, only for you to find yourself blooming again?
Forgetfulness
I came downstairs with something important to tell you,
But, as soon as I entered the room, the thought vanished.
I tried to jog my memory by tilting my head from side to side,
Hoping to catch my fleeting words.
Something in the space snatched my thoughts,
Agonizing: I can’t remember what I wanted to say to you
Again, I titled my head from side to side
To let my thoughts slide,
Just like a child going down a slide- up one way,
And out the other.
I screamed, ‘What was it that I came to say?’
F-O-R-G-I-V-E
Forgive and move on,
Override your accusers-
Right from the beginning,
Give them the face of kindness,
Instead of cursing back, know that;
Vengeance belongs to God.
Everlasting joy shall be your reward.
